I've started it year ago and left... TO NOW! (while I had some spare time during busy holidays)
Everything is made using only polymodeling techniques. No sculpting methods. Bones were treated by displacement texture using... a blurred styrofoam texture
And I had a lot of fun trying to make "metallic" material with scratch, and It's done! With materials I don't know one - how to make soft material, like velvet and it ends as... red wood (?) enchanced by steel material (??).
Okay, stats, so, let's see.
Program: Blender 2.57
Renderer: Cycles, GPU
Rendering: 1h per one image (tried optimize parameters, gonna learn how to deal with it later), tiles - 64x64, final output - 1920x1080.
Verts: well... little over 150k.
Next one is DONALD DUCK for Retrogasm Competition
and also invite everyone here to raise your 3D skillz and try make something great
PS. I must learn how to make "organic" models and I do it, for the quack glory! Good luck for everybody
